How to Make a Price List
A good price list is easy to scan, shows the information customers actually need, and stays consistent every time you send it out. Here's how to build one properly in a few minutes using the tool above.
Type in your business name and a contact line (phone, email, or website). Upload your logo if you have one - it stays in your browser and is never sent to a server, so there's no privacy concern.
Add each product with a name, optional SKU/code, an optional category (great for grouping a large catalog), and a price. Use the up/down arrows to reorder items so related products sit together.
Choose ZAR, USD, EUR, or GBP. If you charge VAT, turn on the VAT toggle - it defaults to South Africa's 15% rate and shows both the VAT-exclusive and VAT-inclusive price for every item automatically.
Check the live preview on the right as you type. When it looks right, click "Print / Save as PDF" for a clean PDF, or "Export CSV / Excel" to get a spreadsheet you can edit further or import elsewhere.
Most "price list apps" you'll find are locked to a phone's app store, which is awkward if you actually build your price list at a desk. This price list maker runs entirely in your web browser, so it works the same way on a Windows PC, a Mac, a Chromebook, a tablet, or a phone - there's nothing to download and nothing to keep updated. Open it, build your list, download it, and you're done.
Your data stays on your device too: everything you type is saved to your browser's local storage, not to a company database, so you can close the tab and come back to exactly where you left off.
If you sell wholesale, distribute stock to retailers, or run a trade counter, a clean price list is often the first thing a new customer asks for - and the thing that goes stale fastest. Categories keep a large catalog organised (e.g. by product line or department), SKUs let your customers order accurately, and VAT-inclusive pricing avoids the back-and-forth of "is that incl. or excl.?"
Many wholesalers manage orders through WhatsApp and a spreadsheet price list for years - right up until the order volume outgrows it. If that sounds familiar, the free tool above still works well for a small, static catalog. But once customers are asking to reorder the same items every week, or you're manually re-typing WhatsApp orders into an invoice, it's usually time to put the price list online.

Never Lose Your Work
Everything autosaves to your browser as you go, so you can update your price list any time without starting over.
Is this price list maker really free?
Yes. The price list maker is 100% free to use, with no signup, no watermark you can't remove, and no limit on the number of products. It runs entirely in your browser.
Does this price list app work on PC, Mac, and mobile?
Yes. Because it's a web-based tool rather than a downloaded app, it works on any device with a modern browser - Windows PC, Mac, Chromebook, tablet, or phone. There is nothing to install.
Can I export my price list to PDF and Excel?
Yes. Use "Print / Save as PDF" and choose "Save as PDF" in your browser's print dialog to get a clean, print-ready PDF. Use "Export CSV / Excel" to download a spreadsheet file you can open in Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers.
Does it support South African Rand (ZAR) and VAT?
Yes. ZAR is the default currency, and the VAT toggle defaults to South Africa's 15% rate, showing both VAT-exclusive and VAT-inclusive prices. You can also switch to USD, EUR, or GBP, or turn VAT off entirely.
Will I lose my price list if I close the browser tab?
No. Your price list is automatically saved in your browser's local storage as you type, so it will still be there next time you open the tool on the same device and browser.
Is there a paid version with more features?
The price list maker itself stays free forever. If you want customers to order directly from this list online - with per-customer pricing, live stock, and orders that land in your inbox automatically - SalesPro Hub offers a live online catalog and ordering portal with a free trial.
